In the aftermath of his breakup from Jessica on Love Is Blind season 10, Chris decided to reveal his lingering feelings for Bri

Chris and Bri dated in the pods, but she was his "number two," and they ultimately parted ways, with her getting engaged to Connor

Bri tells PEOPLE she was surprised by Chris' confession, with Connor also sharing his thoughts on the situation

Bri wasn’t expecting to be caught in a love triangle 11 days before her wedding.

In episode 9 of Love Is Blind season 10, which premiered on Wednesday, Feb. 18, on Netflix, Jessica, 39, broke up with Chris, 33, after he confessed that he didn’t feel an intimate attraction to her and even contemplated if he should have pursued his “number two” connection in the pods, Bri, 34. At a group outing to a bowling alley shortly after, Chris continued to share his feelings despite Bri and Connor, 32, being engaged

“If I want to marry someone, I want to make sure — trust me, it doesn't even need to be 100% — it needs to be something enjoyable, but it was the worst I've ever had,” Chris told Bri of his physical connection with Jessica.

“I like Connor, but he's very submissive,” he added. “I could have turned up the notch with you, and Connor wouldn't be in existence. I see it in the real world, and I'm like, ‘F---. I f---ed up.’ "

Bri responded in defense of Conner, who she said “loves me to the nth degree,” before sharing that she is bringing him to her hometown to meet her dad. Chris, however, insinuated that he would make a better impression on Bri’s family before coming down on Connor once again.

“Is it the best you've ever had?” he asked her, clarifying that he was referring to sex.

“No, but it's good. You're looking for the best you've ever had?” she replied.

“I like to give the best they’ve ever had,” Chris quipped. “That's important to me.”

During his conversation with Jessica a few days prior, Chris admitted that he was used to dating women who worked out daily and did “pilates,” which she took to mean he didn’t like her body. When he didn’t deny that, she packed her bags and left.

She later revealed that Chris followed and DM’d Bri on social media that night, before posting a photo on his Instagram Story of himself at a strip club, all of which Bri confirmed.

While talking to Bri, Chris went on to say that he ultimately doesn’t think she and Connor would say yes at the altar.

“I feel like you need someone who's gonna be more dominant in your life and to help guide you and show you places you’ve never been before,” Chris stated. “He's a very submissive guy. I'm not a submissive guy. I know I'm not like that. I would never be submissive in my life. I want to do that with you.”

“Stop,” Bri interjected, but Chris continued: “I swear to God. I even said to Jess, I was like, ‘Bri is a girl I would go for in my real world.’ And I was like, ‘She's hot. The way she looks, the things she does.’ I'm just saying I feel a regret, because I saw you, and I was like, ‘That is the girl I would literally propose to.' "

During a recent interview with PEOPLE, Bri reflected on the awkward interaction with Chris, sharing that she wanted to have a sit-down conversation with him after meeting in person for the first time in Cabo so she could have “closure.”

“I can't really speak on behalf of how Chris' feelings unfolded,” she notes. “I know that, though, in those moments when I had that conversation, it was definitely like, the door had been closed in the pods, and it was a friendship that we had established in those conversations.”

“So however he interpreted that, I think paired with maybe what was happening in his other relationship, could have led him to some conversations that he maybe wanted to have with me,” she continues. “But when I tell you I was thrown for a loop and absolutely caught off guard at [bowling], it was incredible. And I think every single person that was in that room was very surprised at the Chris that we were experiencing that night.”

As for what was going through Connor’s mind, he tells PEOPLE he never doubted Bri’s dedication to their relationship.

“I think Bri is an independent, confident woman,” he says. “I don't think she would ever overstep a line. I think she has my best interests at heart as well. We both trust each other 100%.”
